Motorcyclist crash victim named
A MOTORCYCLIST who died in a crash near Ledbury has been named.
Phillip Paul was killed when his red Honda 600 motorbike was involved in a collision with a black Mercedes-Benz E Class car about 11am on Saturday.
The 39-year-old of Goodrich in Herefordshire sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene on the A438.
The Mercedes car suffered only minor damage and there were no other injuries.
Police closed the road while the emergency services were at the scene and diversions were put in place until around 5pm when the vehicles had been recovered and collision examiners had concluded their initial investigations.
The Herefordshire Coroner has been informed of Mr Paul's death and an inquest is due to be opened later this week.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the motorcycle - which was the last in a small group of other motorcycles - on the road beforehand is asked to contact PC Darren Collett at Hereford Police Station on 08457 444888 quoting incident number 287-s.
