Taxi chief condemns revellers at Easter
A TAXI chief has condemned the behaviour of revellers over the Easter weekend.
Worcester Taxi Drivers Association secretary Anne Murphy said a lot of drivers had trouble with unruly passengers.
"We had an absolutely dreadful weekend," she said. "I couldn't believe the behaviour of the public, and I'm a mother of five children. People out at the weekend were absolutely horrible. They were complaining about the weather, but that wasn't our fault. Everyone was in a bad mood and everyone seemed to take it out on us. I was sworn at, spat at, and had food all over my car."
Her comments follow a collision with a taxi at about 2am on Sunday.
A police spokesman said the driver of a silver taxi was arrested on Astwood Road but later released without charge. The windscreen was damaged.
The spokesman said: "Police plan shortly to interview the passenger - whose identity is known."
A West Midlands Ambulance Service spokesman said the 20-year-old patient was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital by ambulance where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police want witnesses to call them on 08457 444888, quoting 75S/230308.
