Final call for those who want to win the crown
 |
| POTENTIAL: Leanne Turner, 18, is one of the entrants |
THIS is the final call for women who think they have got what it takes to wow the city and be crowned Miss Worcester 2008.
Friday is the last day we will be accepting applications from girls entering the competition that will give contestants the chance to represent the city in the prestigious Miss England contest, and even be in with a shout of becoming Miss World.
These girls are the latest entrants into the competition that is shaping up to be a close-run contest.
This year we are accepting applications from anyone unmarried and aged between 17 and 24 who lives in a postcode area starting WR. Anyone wanting to enter will have to get their application in by the end of the working day tomorrow and once that deadline has passed Worcester News readers will have the chance to pick their favourite.
Voting starts at the beginning of next month and the top 10 girls who receive the most votes will then be announced.
Your Worcester News has once again teamed up with Worcester Racecourse to bring the competition to the city, and the finalists will take part in a gala event at Pitchcroft where they will have to impress a panel of special judges on Thursday, May 22.

Your Worcester News has been inundated with applications from girls wanting to win the competition since it was launched at the beginning of the month.
We previously reported how last year's winner and current Miss Worcester Jodi Edwards said the competition had changed her life for the better. She said she had modelled in charity fashion shows, opened fetes, presented prizes and even gone on a trip to Taiwan to take part in the Miss Global City contest.
