See the softer side of greyhounds

WAGGING tails will greet shoppers at Webbs, the UK Garden Centre of the Year, at Wychbold near Droitwich tomorrow.

Former racing greyhounds will be using all their wet-nosed charm to persuade shoppers that they make the perfect pet.

The dogs will be taking part in a Greyhound Awareness Roadshow being staged by the Greyhound Rescue West of England charity.

The roadshow is a bid by volunteers to show people that the dogs are loving and affectionate and make ideal family pets.

There will be information about adopting or sponsoring a greyhound and membership of the organisation.

Organisers are hoping the roadshow will be as successful as a visit to Webbs last year where homes were found for dogs with garden centre customers.

Helen Mills from Greyhound Rescue said:"Greyhounds are the most lovable creatures. Visitors to Webbs will find most of the dogs lounging on their beds and very happy to greet people.

"We hope our roadshow might inspire locals to consider taking a greyhound on as a pet."

Visitors to Webbs will have the chance to meet greyhounds and talk to people who already own them from 11am to 4pm.
