BREAKING: Major fire at Malvern factory

A MASSIVE fire in Malvern is shrouding the town in thick smoke as firefighters battle with the blaze.

Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service was called to the fire at a tyre and battery factory in Spring Lane, Malvern, at 7.35pm today.

An eye witness said the flames were ripping through the building and police have closed the surrounding road.

"There are thousands of people down there," said eye witness Brian Metcalf.

"Flames are ripping through the roof, it is huge, the flames are massive and the cloud of smoke is covering the whole of the north west of Malvern.

"It is really intense."
