BREAKING: Blaze crews to work through the night

FIRE crews are expecting to be at the scene of a major tyre factory fire throughout the night.

Roads around the Auto Tyre and Battery Company on Spring Lane are still closed as crews tackle the blaze.

The emergency services were called at 7.34pm and crews are still at the scene.

A spokesman for Hereford and Worcester Fire and rescue service said: "We will probably be there all night. But progress is being made."

It is believed that around half of the building is blazing and police have made a 100m cordon around it.

Neighbouring buildings are also being affected by the fire in that it is believed some residents do not have any water.

An eyewitness at the scene said: "There is still a lot of black smoke in the area and you can't get onto Spring Lane from the A449.

"It has died down a bit since it started but all the fire crews are still here," she added.
